In precision manufacturing, many believe that strict final inspection guarantees quality. The truth is, product quality is determined by the stability and capability of the entire machining process – not by how hard you inspect. Quality is machined in, not inspected out.
Shenzhen Genlikun Technology Co., Ltd. operates 40+ high-precision CNC machining centers (including 5-axis simultaneous and mill-turn), CMM, and an ISO 9001 system. We hold that process control is everything.

1. Inspection Finds Defects, But Does Not Create Good Parts
Heavy inspection – incoming, in-process, outgoing – has three flaws: cost shifting (rework is paid by the customer), efficiency loss (machine hours wasted), and residual risk (sampling misses, full inspection doesn’t guarantee next batch). Inspection is an “after-the-fact referee”. Whether a part is qualified depends on every variable in CNC machining – tool path, cutting parameters, fixturing, coolant, tool condition, operator skill. Only when the process is controlled can the result be controlled.
2. Four Pillars to Machine Quality In
2.1 High-precision equipment
Our shop has 40+ CNC machining centers, including 5-axis and mill-turn machines. 5-axis allows one-setup machining of complex parts, eliminating cumulative errors. Mill-turn combines turning, milling, drilling in one machine, reducing accuracy loss. All key machines are calibrated annually with laser interferometer and ballbar.
2.2 Process design prevents defects
Quality is designed in. Our engineers perform DFM analysis before programming: proper roughing/finishing allowance (0.05-0.10mm left), optimized tool paths, dedicated tool coatings for aluminum/stainless/titanium, and rigid fixturing to avoid deformation.
2.3 Process control ensures batch consistency
We strictly follow First Article Inspection (FAI) using CMM, then SPC with Xbar-R control charts. Operators measure hourly, QC patrols every two hours. Any mean shift or range increase triggers immediate adjustment. This keeps our batch defect rate consistently below 0.5% – far above industry average.
2.4 Standardized work & skills
We do not rely on a single “master machinist”. Detailed SOPs cover fixturing, tool setting, measurement. Internal skill certification and quality training ensure every operator can deliver consistent results. Quality culture is not a slogan – it is every cutting parameter and every measurement record.
3. The True Role of Inspection: Doctor, Not Police
We own full inspection equipment – CMM, optical vision, roughness tester, height gages. But we use inspection as a diagnostic tool to feed back into the machining process. When a dimension fluctuates, we trace back to tool, speed, feed, coolant, identify root cause and improve. We also provide CPK data to customers, proving our process stability (CPK >1.33). The value of inspection is not to eliminate scrap – it is to prevent scrap from being made.
4. Customer Benefits
Customers who adopt “machine quality in” get quantifiable gains: after FAI approval, batch shipments with simplified or no incoming inspection, lead time cut by 20-30%; defect rate below 0.5%, over 90% zero-defect batches; no assembly line stoppages. A security hardware OEM said: “Genlikun’s enclosures have had zero non-conformities for six months. Their quality is machined in. We release them directly to the line.”
5. Conclusion
“Quality is machined in” is our commitment. We do not pursue the lowest price – we pursue the most reliable machining process: 5-axis simultaneous, mill-turn, optimized tool path, ±0.005mm tolerance, Ra ≤1.6μm, CPK ≥1.33. Only reliable process delivers stable results and peace of mind.
Shenzhen Genlikun Technology Co., Ltd. looks forward to long-term partnerships with hardware manufacturers who value true quality.
